Berlin 2018: Day 1 – Arrival

A hard but fun day. Up at 2am to get to the airport in time – at least we had coffee before leaving. The roads were fairly clear, the airport queues were long. The flight (with easyJet) was crowded on a plane with seating designed for children, and the staff at Shöenfeld were far less efficient than I was led to believe. (more…)

Why does everything have to be so complicated?

So we’re going on holiday soon and well, I wanted to carry a few less cables around with us, partly to save weight (not that it’s much) but also to reduce the chances of them getting lost in the hotel room or while out and about. With all this in mind I decided to get a USB-C SD Card reader so that I could upload photos from our cameras to my tablet (Google Pixel C) and thence to this (or Lou’s blog). What a nightmare!

Jaded Vision

It would be easy to talk about Brexit or IoT as a reason to become cynical and jaded in the UK, but it wouldn’t be interesting, nor novel. There’s just way too much that’s already been said, and in any case it tends to polarise people into the pro- and anti- camps, and I don’t want to be walking that road this morning. Instead I will mention streaming video.

A Tamriel Story

Giggles-at-Miscreants staggered across the marsh. She was half starved, not having eaten in days, and parched regardless of the marsh-water lying stagnant for miles in every direction. She dare not stop however, the sounds of dogs kand worse) in the distance, ever louder, always pursuing. Always one step behind…
