As some of you may know, I spend a lot of time on my own. I don’t work, and am not really fit enough to get very far on my own. Louise does what she can for me, but she can’t be around all the time and so I need to entertain myself most of the time. I mean I could spend my life on a sofa watching Netflix or Amazon, but that wouldn’t really help.
So I listen a lot, to audio books and to podcasts. Oh so many podcasts, some of which I have linked either on the sidebar or on the links page. They are pretty much the same list at time of writing, but later I intend the sidebar list to be things I’m currently listening to, and the links page to hold an archive.
So with this in mind, and if anyone is interested, some of the fiction podcasts I really like are the ones from Escape Artists (http://escapeartists.net/). Apart from the stories, they have a policy of trying to improve conditions for both aspiring writers and for currently unpaid staff (slush readers etc). You can look at their site to see exactly what they are up to.
As to non fiction, most of them come from the BBC, but there are others. One thing they all have in common is they are entertaining.
I hope you give some of them a listen. I’ve tried to give links for the ones I have listed, and as I said, I plan to add more.
