After day 3 was cut short due to feet, it was hardly in doubt that day 4 would be any different. We slept in late and once up and dressed, we packed the remains of our stuff and checked out. The hotel has a place we could stash our luggage until it was time to go to the airport, and so… (more…)

Berlin 2018: Day 3 – Painful Feet

Berlin 2018: Day 2 – Birthday
We decided to take it easy after such a long first day, so barely made it out of the hotel room before 11am. The weather of course, being great. Louise thought that a nice easy trip without a lot of walking would be to the Berlin Zoo, and since it was just a half kilometre away I agreed, and so we headed out. How wrong we were. (more…)
Berlin 2018: Day 1 – Arrival
A hard but fun day. Up at 2am to get to the airport in time – at least we had coffee before leaving. The roads were fairly clear, the airport queues were long. The flight (with easyJet) was crowded on a plane with seating designed for children, and the staff at Shöenfeld were far less efficient than I was led to believe. (more…)
Berlin 2018 – 1: Preparation
This year, Louise and I are going to spend some time in Berlin. I’ve never been before (though Louise has), and it’s been several years since I’ve been out of the UK. The last was a weekend in Paris in 2014, so it’s about time.
