So this week has been crazy busy! Yesterday I had to go into Training Link early due to some students needing extra supervision. I had extra paperwork to prepare for the Jobsworth Centre and well, had household chores too, not that I got very far with those. Today was Jobsworth Centre and more Training Link this afternoon, tomorrow and Thursday I have yet more Training Link stuff since PCs need repairing/rebuilding. Finally, at some point in amongst all this, I need to get a blood test done. (more…)

The lack of checks means the fakes included MI5 assassins and mafia couriers, while those that were real but should not have received this government stamp of approval included adverts for prostitutes.

Navigating my way through Tuesday
This morning, as I sat in a waiting room full of screaming children for my appointment with an NHS nurse¹ — which was more than an hour and a half late due to traffic hold ups on the A40 — I got a phone call from a recruiter. Due to the situation, he said he’d call me back when I got home, and in what may be a first for recruiters everywhere, he did! Anyway, we spoke, discussed my employment situation and then having promised to send me a job specification for a position in The City™², he asked me to respond to the email when I get it, and hung up. Streaming Media and Job Search
Not so very long ago, Amazon caused controversy when they added LoveFilm® into their Prime service, and pretty much doubling the price in the process, at least for Prime-only customers. What of those who didn’t want LoveFilm? What of those whose internet would not be up to streaming? What of those who could not afford the price hike? Well, as it happened, I was for once in a good position. My Prime subscription had renewed about a week before the price hike, and so effectively the new service would be free for almost a whole year, the best possible trial I could hope for. (more…)

Getting motivated this morning was not easy. I was, for whatever reason, a lot more tired than I should have been, and when I did, and got some coffee into me, it was still slow. I managed to get done a tiny fraction of what I needed to get done today, and that was a struggle. (more…)
